ASCE's National Education Summit

This past summer, Dr. Eric Steward (Civil, Coastal, & Environmental Engineering) and Department Advisory Board member (and USA MSCE graduate) Sam Sternberg participated in ASCE’s National Education Summit held in Dallas, TX. The education summit focused on technological and educational changes that are occurring at ever-increasing rates, how to promote more entrepreneurial thinking and the importance of experiential and lifelong learning. Goals were to identify best methods/strategies to prepare engineering professionals for the future. Discussion topics included a) Incorporating entrepreneurial thinking, b) Experiential and lifelong learning, and c) Multi-disciplinary approaches to challenges.
