Second Cohort of LevelUP Fellows Completes Fellowship, Celebrates Successes
The University of South Alabama’s Office of Academic Enhancement proudly announces the successful completion of the second cohort of LevelUP Faculty-Student Fellows for the 2024–2025 academic year. This milestone marks continued progress in the implementation of the University’s Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP), LevelUP: Uniquely Prepared for What Comes Next, a campus-wide initiative that enhances student success through experiential learning and career-readiness development.
Over the past year, LevelUP Fellows led innovative projects that integrated metacognitive reflection and the NACE Career Readiness Competencies into academic programs and student support services. These efforts are designed to equip students with essential transferable skills and prepare them for success in both their careers and continued education.
The LevelUP Fellows for 2024-2025 were:
- Steven Clontz (Mathematics and Statistics)
- Autumn Courtney (Second Year Experience - Student Academic Success)
- Angela Doucet Rand (Marx Library)
- Delisa Johnson (Prospective Student Programs & New Student Orientation)
- Kelly Major (Biology)
- Christine Rinne (Modern and Classical Languages and Literature)
- Megan Sparks (Communication)
- Hunter Tallent (English)
- Geoffrey Hudson (Health, Kinesiology & Sport)
- Melissa Walter (Communication)
To honor the Fellows’ achievements and the impact of their work, the Office of Academic Enhancement hosted a Closing Celebration at the end of the spring semester. During the event, Fellows were formally recognized for their leadership, innovation, and commitment to student success. The celebration also provided an opportunity to share project highlights, reflect on outcomes, and build momentum for continued implementation of the LevelUP QEP.
Throughout the Fellowship, participants gained valuable insights, resources, and support to expand the reach of the LevelUP initiative within their academic programs and student-facing services. Their efforts contribute not only to the immediate success of their students, but also to a broader culture of career readiness and holistic learning at South.
