Van Gogh paintingWhen one thinks of famous art pieces, they usually first think of works such as the Mona Lisa, or Starry Night, Michelangelo’s David and even the Sistine Chapel. What most of these famous pieces have in common is that they are either originating or are housed in Europe. Throughout my travels through Europe with study abroad and personal travel, I have been able to visit many museums such as the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, the Louvre in Paris, and the British Museum in London. Not only is art prevalent in Europe it is also incredibly appreciated. Everywhere you look there is art. Even the architecture is considered a beautiful art.

Music is also one of the most important cultural aspects in Europe.

Everywhere you go it seems you are welcomed by beautiful live music. During my summer in Heidelberg, it seemed like there was always some music festival or celebration every weekend, some even on a random Tuesday. Ed Sheeran even came one weekend! Near the end of my stay in Heidelberg, the president of my school invited a friend and I to his country castle. There, the family was hosting a music and food festival! We were the honored guests, and although we could barely understand what the musicians were saying, we knew that they were having the time of their lives.

Some of the most beautiful music can also be heard in the grand cathedrals that are on every block of Europe. The massive organs can be heard through the streets and even the church bells that toll on the hour can be music to the ears.
