Faculty and staff from the Whiddon College of Medicine are actively engaged in clinical and translational research. Showing their support of CCTS Clinical Trials Day are, back row: Travis B. The University of South Alabama is a proud and active member of the University of Alabama at Birmingham’s Center for Clinical and Translational Science (CCTS) Partner Network, a regional collaboration dedicated to advancing clinical and translational research across the Deep South.

USA supports this work locally through the USA Translational Research Service Center (TRSC), which connects faculty and staff to CCTS resources in clinical trials development, research design, informatics, biostatistics, and community engagement, while ensuring strong USA representation across the CCTS Partner Network.

As part of this collaboration, USA is participating in Clinical Trials Day 2026, an annual CCTS‑hosted event recognizing the investigators, research professionals, and participants who make clinical research possible. Clinical Trials Day will be held on Wednesday, May 20, and will include both in‑person and network‑wide opportunities to celebrate and showcase clinical research accomplishments.

USA faculty and staff are encouraged to join the celebration and highlight their role in advancing clinical trials that improve health outcomes for our communities. The in-person opportunities will take place on the UAB campus.
