Hall selected as expert and speaker for AAMC leadership development series

Dr. Tiquera Hall, education and training manager in the Office of Health Advancement at the Frederick P. Whiddon College of Medicine, has been selected by the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) to serve as both a national subject matter expert and workshop facilitator for the organization's inaugural Empowering People and Teams Virtual Workshop Series.

Hall is among a select group of nationally chosen experts who will help design and deliver the AAMC's new leadership development series. She will collaborate with AAMC staff and fellow subject matter experts to refine workshop curriculum, develop case-based learning activities, and facilitate sessions for leaders across academic medicine.

Hall will serve as a featured speaker and facilitator for the first workshop in the series “Leveraging Strengths and Differences,” scheduled for July 28 and 30. The workshop focuses on strengthening communication, navigating conflict, leveraging diverse perspectives and building collaboration across teams and generations. She will help participants translate evidence-based leadership concepts into practical workplace strategies, drawing on her expertise in instructional design, professional identity formation, leadership development and organizational learning.

The virtual series was developed to provide accessible leadership training for professionals across academic medicine. The workshops combine practical instruction, collaborative discussion, and real-world application.

Empowering People and Teams Workshop Schedule

  • Workshop 1: Leveraging Strengths and Differences — July 28 and 30, 2026, 1 to 4 p.m.
  • Workshop 2: Developing High-Performing Teams — Sept. 22 and 24, 2026, 1 to 4 p.m.
  • Workshop 3: Leading People — Feb. 9 and 11, 2027, 1 to 4 p.m.

Participants will learn to:

  • Build practical leadership skills that can be applied immediately.
  • Strengthen team alignment, communication, and collaboration.
  • Navigate conflict with greater confidence and effectiveness.
  • Foster psychological safety, trust, engagement, and innovation.
  • Leverage diverse perspectives and generational strengths to improve team performance.
  • Practice new leadership approaches between workshops through application-focused learning.
  • Connect with colleagues from across academic medicine while expanding their professional network.

This series is designed for project leads, managers, supervisors, emerging leaders, and experienced professionals responsible for guiding teams and developing others. 

CME and CPE credit will be available for eligible participants.
