Faculty awarded intramural grants for innovative research

The Frederick P. Whiddon College of Medicine has awarded intramural research grants to three faculty members through its annual competitive Intramural Grants Program (IGP), which supports innovative basic, clinical and translational research.
The IGP offers two funding tracks:
- Seed funding supports conceptually new research projects that have not received previous funding (other than start-up funds) and show strong potential to compete successfully for future extramural grant support.
- Revised grant submission funding helps investigators generate the preliminary data needed to strengthen revised applications for external funding.
The Whiddon College of Medicine invests $250,000 annually in the program, providing one-year awards ranging from $25,000 to $50,000 in direct costs.
