Dr. Binata MukherjeeBinata Mukherjee, M.D., MBA, assistant dean for faculty and professional development and an associate professor of internal medicine at the Whiddon College of Medicine, was a returning guest on the Faculty Factory podcast. Mukherjee, who also serves as director of healthcare leadership initiatives at the Mitchell College of Business, discussed "leader as coach" and embracing the growth mindset.

Growth-minded leaders, Mukherjee said, are willing to be candid about not having all the answers as they are there to facilitate learning and help find those answers.

“Building trust and enabling an environment of psychological safety are the most important things about working with a team,” she said.

The Faculty Factory is a community of faculty development leaders in academic health systems who share a passion for serving faculty and helping them exceed their clinical, research, education and leadership goals. Presented by UTMB Health, the weekly Faculty Factory podcast started in 2019 and has listeners and website visitors from 122 countries.
