USA Health’s Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology will host a reproductive health fair in April designed to provide education and resources for young adults on a range of important health topics.

The event will take place from noon to 4 p.m. on April 11, at the Student Center Ballroom on the campus of the University of South Alabama, located at 350 Student Center Circle in Mobile.
The health fair, which is open to those ages 17 and older, will feature educational sessions, informational resources, and opportunities for attendees to connect with healthcare professionals. One goal of the event is to help young adults better understand key aspects of reproductive and preventive health while encouraging healthy lifestyle choices.

Medical students from the Frederick P. Whiddon College of Medicine and other USA Health-affiliated healthcare providers will be on hand to provide general education and answer questions. Planned discussion areas include routine OB-GYN care, breast and cervical cancer awareness, healthy diet and exercise, safety and mental health, and young adult health issues.

The event will also include a class on de-escalation and verbal agility led by Peter Dorlet, offering participants tools for communication and conflict management in challenging situations.

While clinicians and healthcare professionals will be available to provide educational information, no medical care, treatment, or prescriptions will be provided during the event, and participation does not establish a physician-patient relationship.

Event organizers say the fair is designed to create a welcoming environment where young adults can learn more about their health and access reliable information from trained professionals.

Materials will be provided to attendees, and those interested in participating are encouraged to register in advance. The reproductive health fair is part of ongoing community outreach efforts by USA Health aimed at promoting education, awareness, and access to trusted health information to those in the community.
