Diabetes Research

Glucose homeostasis is the result of a complex communication network between different organs, including pancreas, muscle, liver, adipose tissue and brain. In diabetes type 2, hyperinsulinemia, insulin resistance, increase in fat mass and food intake are intricately connected. Our studies are aimed towards understanding how phosphoinositides can affect different aspects of the diabetes/obesity cycle.
