USA Health providers now can access Cerner electronic medical records on their smartphones and tablets using Cerner Mobility Suite. The application includes many features of Cerner and is tailored to a mobile experience, said Steve Travers, Ph.D., M.B.A., chief information officer for USA Health.

“Increasingly, healthcare providers need information quickly and on the go,” Travers said. “We’re pleased to announce that you now can access Cerner from anywhere on your smart phone.”

Within Cerner Mobility Suite, the Message Center app works in a similar fashion to the desktop app and can be accessed using an iPhone or Android, Travers said. The PowerChart Touch app, which provides access to dozens of the desktop Cerner PowerChart functions, is available for iOS devices only.

To access Cerner on a mobile device:

  • Request an access code from the USA Health IT department by emailing ITHelpDesk@health.southalabama.edu.
  • Download the PowerChart Touch (iOS) and Message Center (iOS and Android) applications.
  • Open PowerChart Touch and enter the access code.
