i2B2: Clinical & Translational Research Data Tool

Search de-identified electronic health record (EHR) data to support clinical research, translational research, and quality improvement.

What is i2B2?

i2B2 allows approved users to search our de-identified EHR data using a variety of clinical and demographic criteria. It is a valuable resource for clinical and translational research as well as quality.

🔎 Diagnosis Search by ICD-10 diagnosis codes.
👥 Demographics Search available demographic characteristics.
💊 Medications Search available medication data.

Getting Access to i2B2

Before using i2B2, you must request and receive access approval through the USA IT Support Desk. Select the option below that applies to you.

Have a USA Health Active Directory (AD) Login?

If you have an active usahealthsystem / Active Directory (AD) login, follow these steps:

1. Go to the USA Health Employee Hub and log in with your AD credentials.
2. Select IT Support.
3. Select Access Request.
4. Enter your information, including your J number.
5. In the comments box, type: "Request i2B2 access"

Don't have a USA Health login?

If you do not have a USA Health Active Directory login, your supervisor will need to submit the request on your behalf.

Send your supervisor the following information:
1. First and last name (no nicknames or middle names)
2. J number
3. Office location, Office phone number, Email address
Your supervisor will submit the IT Support request and request i2B2 access for you.

Access i2B2

Once your i2B2 access has been approved, use the appropriate option below.

On the USA Health Campus

Access i2B2 directly using the link below.
Launch i2B2 →
Log in using your USA Health AD credentials through the Shibboleth screen.

Outside the USA Health Campus

If you are working outside the USA Health campus, first log in through VMware/Omnissa.
