Scholarships
Below is a list of scholarships for incoming Engineering students. These scholarships are awarded by the College of Engineering and would be in addition to any academic scholarships awarded by USA's Office of Enrollment Services (i.e. Presidential, Bay Area, PTK Transfer, etc.).

Deadline to apply for the College of Engineering Scholarships is January 15, 2021 for academic year 2021-2022.

Engineering Scholarships for Incoming Students

High school seniors participating in the Mobile, Alabama BEST Robotics Competition are eligible to apply for USA's BEST Scholarship. The application will be available from your high school counselor Fall semester. The deadline is provided by the Jubilee BEST committee.
This is a $1,500 research stipend to be used Summer semester following freshman or sophomore year. The undergraduate research will take place at the University of South Alabama with a College of Engineering faculty member.
This opportunity is based on ACT scores and high school GPA, and there is no application required. Students need to apply and be admitted to the university by January 1 of their senior year. Students selected will be notified by letter to their on file address.
The Alabama LSAMP Performance Based Stipend is designed to support underrepresented students pursuing science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) baccalaureate degree programs. This is a $4,000 stipend for the first year at USA.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Incoming freshmen must have a high school GPA of 2.75 or higher
- Transfer students must have a transfer GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Must attend Math Bridge Program (week before Fall term begins) – registration paid if selected as ALSAMP scholarship recipient
- Undergraduate research during the semesters receiving the scholarship
- Present a research poster at the annual ALSAMP Scholars Spring Conference

The USA LINK Scholarship is a $6,000/year scholarship for incoming transfer students majoring in Engineering at USA. This scholarship is awarded for the Fall or Spring semester.
