New Outdoor WiFi Access During COVID-19 with JagWiFi

 

What is JagWiFi?

 

The University of South Alabama is now offering authenticated outdoor internet access in response to COVID-19. This internet access is being provided via a wireless network named JagWiFi and is available in many locations including a number of parking lots.

The JagWiFi wireless network is an authenticated network and is only available to current Faculty, Staff, and enrolled Students with a JagNet account.  You will be required to obtain an access key in order to join this network.

 

How to access JagWiFi?

 

To receive an access key and instructions for connecting to the JagWiFi network, click the JagWiFi Access Key icon below and enter your JagNet credentials. 

Once you have received your JagWiFi Access Key, you should be able to authenticate to JagWiFi in any of the coverage areas on main campus. To connect, select the “JagWiFi” wireless network ID on your device and when prompted for the network password by your device enter the JagWiFi Access Key provided. 

 
 

Where can I access JagWiFi?

 

The JagWiFi outdoor wireless network is available in parking lots near Humanities, Chemistry, Marx Library and the Student Center on the main campus. Please see the map of the network coverage locations below.

Important Safety Information!

 

While you’re accessing the outdoor wireless at USA, you are not required to sit in your car, if you choose to sit outside of your car, please follow recommended guidelines for physical and social distancing:

  • Keep a distance of six-feet or more between yourself and others not residing in your home.
  • Keep hand sanitizer or wipes with you.
  • Cover your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze.
  • Stay home when sick or if other family members are sick.
