Why Canvas?

By moving to Canvas, the University community will be able to access a modern LMS with intuitive tools for building courses and learning with them, mobile apps for faculty and students, easier collaboration and feedback using multimedia tools and enhanced grading capabilities. In addition, we are looking for the new system to help us grow opportunities for non-credit and professional development courses that take advantage of faculty expertise and knowledge that is valued by practitioners in many fields.

How do I access Canvas?

You can login to Canvas by navigating to usaonline.southalabama.edu and entering your JagNet (JagMail) credentials.  Mobile App's are also available here (iOS App Store) and (Google Play Store

Are all of my classes in Canvas?

Courses will gradually be migrated from Sakai to Canvas, so not all of your courses may be in Canvas yet.  All courses will be hosted in Canvas by Fall 2020. To find out where your course is located, please follow the instructions here.

How do I access Canvas Help?

Canvas Support is available 24/7/365 through telephone support: (385) 501-6525.  Live chat support is available from the Help menu which can be found once you are logged into Canvas. The help menu can be accessed from the global navigation bar (left-hand side)

I just registered for a course, how long will it be before I see it in my course list?

Canvas enrollments are updated every four hours based on the course roster from PAWS.

I just withdrew from a course, how long will it be before it disappears from my course list?
