Dr. Gwendolyn Pennywell, Interim Assistant Dean of Graduate Programs at the Mitchell College of Business, has recently been named a 2023 Silver Black Girl Who Rocks Honoree. She was inducted at the Seventh Annual Black Girls Rock Scholarship Gala. The Black Girls Rock - Jaguar Edition initiative was created in 2017 by South’s Black Student Union to encourage and support local female African American high school students in their journey of attending a higher education institution. More than that, the Black Student Union at South, is continually exploring different ways to engage with the larger Mobile community to bridge the gap to create a Greater Mobile Community.
