All children who use Campus Recreation facilities, including the outdoor pool, must have an active membership regardless of age. Parents have the option of purchasing a year-round dependent membership for $8/month or a summer-only membership for $50/summer. Please contact our membership coordinator at 460-6293 for more information.
Members who wish to bring a guest child to the outdoor pool will pay the regular guest fee of $10/child/day at the front desk.
At the outdoor pool, children are limited year-round to dependent hours of Fridays 4:00-8:30 PM, Saturdays 12:00-8:00 PM, and Sundays 1:00-8:00 PM. Please see our dependent policy for hours that children are allowed access to other areas of the Student Recreation Center.
In the summer, children under age 17 can also use the outdoor pool on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:00-9:00 PM. These dates have ended for 2019 and will begin again in Summer 2020. During these special Monday and Wednesday hours, dependents are not allowed access to other parts of the facility.
Per Department of Campus Recreation policy, children age 15 and under must be directly supervised by parents. Direct supervision is defined as parent or guardian no farther than 20 feet apart and actively participating in the same activity as the child. Based on a child’s swimming ability, the parent may be required to be closer than 20 feet while in the pool.
Children or their siblings may not swim or be in any area of the pool deck during non-dependent hours unless taking a group or private swim lesson.
All non-swimmers age 15 and under must wear a life jacket.
