Words jumble, a blend

of grunts and sighs

that rise from shadows

where a toddler

crouches over an ant

unaware of this giant

that looms between

earth and ski

intent on its own

language scrawled

in chemical codes

over pavement, a tender

touch, feet and

antennas until

an ecstatic squeal

set loose by a pinch

reveals the true

nature of language.
