Mrs. Thu Olsen
Mrs. Thu Olsen is a geoscientist and an Instructor of Geology in the Department of Earth Sciences at the University of South Alabama. She received her B.S. in Geophysics from Texas A&M University in College Station and M.Sc. in Geology from The University of Alabama. While studying at Texas A&M University, she was a field course counselor for the GeoForce Texas program and a mentor for freshmen. As a Master’s student, she used geophysical techniques to perform reservoir characterization of the Hartselle Sandstone of the Black Warrior Basin in Alabama. She enjoys solving challenging problems in geology and teaching geology. She also has industry experience working as staff geologist in the Permian Basin of West Texas and New Mexico.
