Hey Jags! My name is C.C. Annulis, and I am a junior marketing major. I am from Pass Christian, a small town on the Mississippi Gulf Coast only an hour away from Mobile. Attending the Mitchell College of Business at the University of South Alabama has been an amazing opportunity; I accepted the generous Mitchell Scholarship just months before the start of my freshman year and have utilized it since to grow personally and professionally.

My passion for business–specifically marketing– developed through my involvement in many extracurricular activities at South. Since my freshman year, I’ve had the opportunity to serve on the First Year Council as the marketing chair and on the Student Government Association as the marketing director. Now into my sophomore year, I am thrilled to work as a student marketing assistant at the Mitchell College. Through these organizations and opportunities, I have joined a community that actively connects people to one another and is motivated to promote student success at USA.

The Mitchell College of Business opened many doors for me– in my capacity as a student– to utilize another one of my passions: the environment. Through the college internship program, I connected to environmental conservation company, Osprey Initiative, where I currently serve as a marketing intern.

Study abroad opportunities have also allowed me to combine interests in both the environment and marketing subject areas. While studying in London last summer, the most impactful lesson was seeing firsthand London’s commitment to the development of eco-friendly communities. Following this experience, I was inspired to conduct undergraduate research under the guidance of Dr. Reid Cummings and Jana Stupavsky. Together we are exploring the growth of green marketing. I am looking forward to attending another study abroad program led by Dr. Ermanno Affuso this May in Reykjavik, Iceland.

In my experience as a student, the University of South Alabama continually provides opportunities to engage in experiential learning and cultivate the skills necessary for successfully entering the workforce. Just halfway through my collegiate career, I am confident in contributing my ideas, talents, and skills and look forward to a marketing career focused on the environment. I am thankful for the faculty and classmates who have already made a positive impact in developing my sense of purpose and belonging in this BIG beautiful world. I hope to inspire others to take advantage of the endless possibilities at South and the Mitchell College of Business. Get involved, find your passion, and make a difference. And, as always, Go Jags!
