Who can love you better than yourself? Love Thyself is an event that will offer students the opportunity to identify and share ways to increase their self-love. Title IX wants to encourage students to commit to treating themselves with kindness, embracing their flaws, and focusing on their self-worth.

Sliding Into the DM’s

This interactive workshop allows students to explore how their actions affect relationships. In a time where most communication happens from behind a screen, we'll use Tinder, Instagram, WhatsApp, and/or Snapchat to interact with others and learn how to keep ourselves safe, spot red flags, end relationships safely, and more.

Clothes are NOT Consent Fashion Show

Location: Student Center Ballroom

It's crucial to understand and uphold the principles of consent, communicate openly with partners, and ensure that all interactions are based on mutual respect and agreement. Consent should always be ongoing, can be withdrawn at any time, and should never be taken for granted. This fashion show will emphasize the phrase "clothes are not consent" which serves as a valuable reminder of these principles and the importance of respecting personal boundaries and autonomy.

Break the Silence: MENtal Health

Location: Student Center Rm 203

Men are often excluded from conversations about mental health. This workshop will look at toxic masculinity and the toll it takes on men’s mental health, as well as providing a safe place to talk about men’s mental health

Collaboration/ Partners: Fraternities. We could pick one or get a representative from each ( Desmond and Simeon)

A Memory, a Monologue, a Rant, and a Prayer

A Memory, A Monologue, A Rant and A Prayer is a groundbreaking collection of monologues by world-renowned authors and playwrights. These diverse voices rise up in a collective roar to break open, expose, and examine the insidiousness of violence at all levels: brutality, neglect, a punch, even a put-down. These writings are inspired, funny, angry, heartfelt, tragic, and beautiful. But above all, together they create a true and profound portrait of how violence affects every one of us.

Walk a mile in her shoes

Since 2001, people have shown up for this walk. Men attempt to walk a mile in a pair of high heels, confronting gender stereotypes. It also creates a safe space to talk about sexualized violence and inspires self-reflection and change

Take Back the Night

Location: Student Center Terrace 
Date: Wednesday, April 24, 2024
5:00 pm-7:00 pm

Title IX Office along with campus and community partners will come together to Take Back the Night to promote ending sexual violence in all forms. Ending sexual violence is a long-term goal, and it requires ongoing dedication, education, and advocacy.  We will be taking a stand against sexual violence and work toward creating a world where everyone can live free from the fear of such acts. This event will end with a candlelight vigil in memory of all survivors and victims of sexual violence.
