B.S. Marine Sciences

Whether you are excited about marine plants or animals or computers and technology, the marine sciences program provides opportunities to explore coastal and ocean environments in the ways that interest you the most. The Bachelor of Science in Marine Sciences is designed to address society’s growing need for specialized understanding of the marine environment. Students are guided by a world-renown faculty with expertise ranging from fisheries sciences to ocean physics, preparing you for job opportunities related to the marine environment in the government, academic, commercial and industrial settings.
A cornerstone of this program is the Semester by the Sea at Dauphin Island Sea Lab where students in this program will spend their spring semester of junior or senior year taking coursework with the option of living in residence at DISL.
