Freshmen - Fall Semester
All students who are 2020 high school graduates and students who are first time freshmen under the age of 23 must attend New Student Orientation.
If you are 23 or older and are not transferring from another institution, we recommend you attend our Transfer & Adult Freshman orientation session. We look forward to helping you transition to USA and will familiarize you with the campus, student services, and assist you in registering for classes.
New students must be admitted before attending orientation. There is an orientation fee of $100. This fee cannot be waived and is required at the time of orientation registration. If your orientation plans change and you choose to cancel your registration, please contact our office directly to provide notification of the change. For refund consideration, a written notice of cancellation and refund request must be received by May 29, 2020. No refunds will be issued after May 29, 2020.
Parents are welcome to attend Parent Orientation on the same day that their student attends New Student Orientation. A separate parent orientation fee of $40 will be due at time of orientation registration for each parent/guest who plans to attend. Please note that no refunds for student or parent orientation fees will be issued after May 29, 2020.

As the University continues its response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we want to make sure that our new Jaguars remain informed. Our University decided to extend the use of online learning through the May and Summer terms. Students will not return to campus for classes this May/Summer.
Therefore, our Fall orientation, scheduled to begin in June, will be served in two parts. The first part will be online and this will cover the sessions planned for June and July. The second part will occur the week before classes start and be aligned with campus move-in.
This results in an even fuller Orientation, with more content, activities, and ways to learn about South and connect with even more members of our community. And we are excited to be delivering it to you. We will provide further instructions and details as the online Orientation nears.
