Extra Yard for Teachers Football Game Information
The University of South Alabama is joining universities, conferences, bowl games, ESPN and education supporters across the country in an eight-day celebration dedicated to honoring and recognizing great teachers. Extra Yard for Teachers Week is Friday, Sept. 15 through Saturday, Sept. 23, 2023.
Together, we are going big for teachers.
Throughout the week, the college football community goes out of its way to let teachers know they are valued and respected. The University of South Alabama College of Education and Professional Studies and South Alabama Athletics are partnering with the College Football Playoff Foundation to celebrate teachers in Mobile and Baldwin Counties.
Educators can purchase discount tickets below for the Saturday, Sept. 23, 2023 Jags vs. Central Michigan football game to be held at Hancock Whitney Stadium. We plan to honor USA Classroom Project Contest winners and celebrate all educators at the game.
South Alabama Athletics, through the Sun Belt Conference, is also awarding $200 each to 30 teachers to fulfill Amazon wish lists for classroom instruction enhancement projects. Attend the Jags vs. Central Michigan football game at Hancock Whitney Stadium to enter to win. There will be a table at Gate 1 where teachers can enter the drawing. School ID required to register for the drawing.

- Gold parking is complimentary and is a 10-20 minute walk to Hancock Whitney Stadium (Entry 8 & 9 off University Boulevard).
- Blue parking can be purchased for $20 and can be purchased here (Entry 6 off University Boulevard).
- Red Parking is sold out.
- There is a paid handicap parking lot with shuttle to all gates at Red Lot 201 (Entry 2 off Stadium Drive and Old Shell Road)
- Rideshare, Lyft/Uber and Taxi drop off/pick-up at Bebo's Car Wash (6377 Old Shell Road).
